Gull Chaos, Heronzilla, Pelicans for Tea

Today we bid adieu to Corpus Christi but not before one last visit to a wildlife sanctuary. The explosion of life we found was worth the whole trip.

A chaotic mass of “Laughing Gulls” were fishing here. The density of birds was amazing.

The traffic was packed and there were a few, “incidents.” The one in the lower left still got a tiny fish.

This Great Blue Heron seems like an avian Godzilla terrorizing fish. It is Heronzilla. I have video of this guy swallowing the whole fish. That will come in a later post.

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

  1. It must be some sight photographing that Blue Heron stabbing a fish. Big fish for what seems like shallow water. Lovely photos…

Thank you! We arrived too late to see how he caught it. We did see another catch one about the same size. He caught it in slightly deeper water then walked around with it for awhile.
