The Error
Irshallis was born misshapen. His siblings called him, “The Error.” The adults expected he would die soon. He never kept up when hunting parties swam to the feeding grounds.
He found his own food where the sea crashed against the land, eating the crunchy crawlers in the shallow waters. It was dangerous there. His kind died when waves thrust them upon the land. One day, a chance wave threw him upon the beach. His siblings called out, “Fight Irshallis! It’s your only chance to return!”
Irshallis, The Error, didn’t need to fight. He raised himself up on his misshapen fins and simply crawled back to the sea. His siblings were amazed. Again and again, he was beached. Each time he returned. Crawlers were abundant here. Irshallis fed upon them, growing larger each day. With no competition for food, he quickly outweighed his siblings.
Irshallis, first fish on land became, The Success.
Bloody marvellous! I wondered if this was a good photo to use, but the stories have been good, and this one … there is a moral and a half behind this one (cool new gravatar too)

Thanks so much, Alastair! I seem unable to write without a moral in there somewhere. The picture is great in my opinion. I immediately thought of the first fish to walk. I’m glad you like the gravatar. Hopefully this one will be less blurry.
Thanks for stopping in!

Brilliant stuff. You’ve taken the photo to a completely different level. I thought of skipping this week’s challenge since nothing struck me as at first, but now I’m inspired to give it another shot!

That’s right. Just keep pushing on. The only way anything gets better is if it’s different. There’s great potential in being different.
