Clara had died.
Clara, the “darling” of the tulip world, whose “Pink Perfection” won awards and worldwide accolades, was stolen from Nattie. Stolen, just like most of her flowers, just like most of her fame. Meanwhile, Nattie languished in her shadow hungry for success yet never finding it.
While plotting revenge, Nattie died of a stroke. When she returned to this world, could she finish? No! Not as a goat, and Clara had died anyway.
Nattie, the goat, stood before Clara’s grave decorated with “Pink Perfection” tulips.
Nattie bowed her head at the grave, and noted…these tulips are really tasty!
The Friday Fictioneers meets weekly to write 100 words based on a photo prompt. Rochelle Wisoff-Fields provides the photo prompt and the inspiration of our imagination. Anyone may join in on the creative explosion, so why don’t you? This week’s prompt may be found here: http://rochellewisofffields.wordpress.com/2013/07/10/12-july-2013/
