Second-richest man in the world, Hubert Hanson, climbed past the Himalayan cloud layer. Panting and gasping, he was exhausted from the arduous climb. He crawled the last 100 feet to where the ancient guru meditated.

“Oh great guru,” *wheeze* “How can I make more money?” He asked.

The wizened man gazed across the clouded mountains. “You must start at the bottom,” he intoned.

Hanson beamed. “Yes! Brilliant. I should start companies from the ground up. Make them in my own image!”

“No, you idiot.  Climb here from the foot of the mountain. Don’t ride your private helicopter most of the way up!”

Each week, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields presents a photo, and encourages us all to write 100 words or less from our mind’s eye about the photo. Some clever people write each week, and happily accept anyone else who wold join in. Won’t you join us? Original prompt is here:

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

  1. Climbs are for people who can’t afford to fly. 🙂

  2. Sandra says:

A parable couched in humour! Nicely done. 🙂

  3. Dear E. A.

Turnabout’s fair play. You made me laugh. Personally I think Mr. H. is innovative to have flown half the distance. )

  4. 🙂 Could just be oxygen deprivation on the part of the guru, too. Who knows?

    • EagleAye says:

And that could be key to he whole thing. Maybe wisdom is gained from a little oxygen deprivation. Certainly Hubert was experiencing that in the high Himalayas.

      Thanks bunches for swinging by!

  5. rckjones says:

If Hansen is the 2nd-richest man in the world, perhaps the guru is the first. I for one will start at the bottom… just in case. Great story!

  6. pattisj says:

Good read, thanks for lightening things up!

  7. zookyworld says:

Good one! Makes me wonder if Hubert Hanson will make changes to his hectic schedule.

    • EagleAye says:

He might have already gotten what he wanted from the guru, if obliquely. I doubt that HH will give up too much of his life, even if a guru told him so.

      Thanks much for stopping in!

  8. troy P. says:

The guru calling him an idiot was priceless!

  9. How did the guru know he flew half the way? Wish Richard Hanson (is that his name, the Virgin Airline guy), would read this.
