An Incredible Hike in Canada

While visiting Hamilton, Canada, we visited the Royal Botanical Gardens (pictures to come). We noticed a hiking trail on the map outside the gardens and decided to explore. We stumbled on an amazing place of beauty on an incredible hike. Here are some of the over 1600 pics Shey and I took.

At the main desk, they told us we could feed the “tame” birds but the store had no more bird seed. We’re thinking, “Yeah, right. Toss the seed and walk a good distance away.” We rounded a bend and a woman just handed us a bag  of bird seed. We began to feed them like this.

Shey’s had me doing this for years.

White-Breasted Nuthatch

Chipmunks danced around at our feet, waiting for handouts.

We got within 10 feet of this Cardinal. We thought he was so fat he was stuck. He was just well fed, and expecting more.

While feeding the many animals, a ruckus broke out behind us. All the critters scattered in an instant. This Red-Shouldered Hawk (confirmation?) had landed nearby and didn’t care when we snapped photos like mad from 20 feet away. Anywhere else, we carefully seek out the animals. In this amazing sanctuary, the animals come to YOU!

Red-Winged Blackbirds

The beginning of our incredible journey.

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.
