Normalcy
“That time warp I stepped in was disorienting,” noted Justin.
“Might’ve been worse,” replied Vincent. “You could’ve arrived before we defeated the aliens two days ago.”
“Lucky me.”
“I thought a boat ride might provide normalcy.”
“It’s good to see,” said Justin. “Like those shipping cranes out there.”
Vincent’s head snapped around. “Uh, those aren’t…”
“Lady Liberty still standing.”
“Uh. Well…”
The giant statue stepped forward and kicked the butt of a shipping crane. The crane whimpered and walked faster.
Justin’s jaw dropped.
“Ah…the Statue of Liberty was destroyed 12 years ago,” explained Vincent. “But the new Warbots won the war against those alien walking tanks.”

All you needed was an ewok reference to make George Lucas proud.

You’re right! I should’ve had Teddy Bears doing a song and dance number afterward. 😉

This made me laugh. Love the sense of time warp, out of body awakening, as lady liberty suddenly moved and began kicking butt.

Justin fainted after that. The effort at establishing normalcy having failed miserably. Poor guy. He may never quite adjust to his accidental new life. Thanks much for visiting!

I was hoping for laughs. Apparently, George Lucas was influenced to create the Star Wars AT-ATs from looking at the shipping cranes in Oakland, CA. It’s easy to see how he got there when you see them towering over the landscape.
