Magic Dress
“Nobody’s bought the dress yet?” Said Dave from the doorway.
“Not yet, Mr. Parker,” replied Iris, working at the counter.
“It’s a great dress.”
“It certainly is.”
“Before Gloria wore it, she was a tomboy. Dirty fingernails and loose-fitting jeans.”
“Uh huh.”
“Then I bought her that dress from a gypsy in New Jersey. She wore it once and, wow! She really became a Lady.”
“That’s great, Mr. Parker.”
“That dress is magical. It could make a lady out of anything.”
“Uh huh.”
As Dave left the shop, he glanced at the mannequin wearing Gloria’s dress.
It winked at him.

Yup. And with such a nice dress, she’ll likely be a very happy Lady. Thanks much for the kind words. 🙂

Fun story. The dress evidently did make a lady out of anything. 🙂
I must, however, mention a few extraneous capital letters, a pet peeve of mine. (They somehow pop up all the time in things written for church.) In the first sentence, “said Dave from the doorway” and “lady” rather than “Lady.” There. I feel better. 🙂 Thanks.

I like it! The idea of the magic dress and the guy being so concerned that someone get the magic is quite sweet.
