Sneaking Up On Ducks

Ducks that are unaccustomed to humans can be shy. Even if you move slowly towards them, they slowly paddle out of zoom range. Apparently, ducks are experts on camera capability. Getting a shot like the one below is the result of patience and luck.

We were lucky enough to stumble across a group at Hornsby Bend that wasn’t swimming away. There were a lot of trees between us and these ducks (Northern Shovelers to be exact). To avoid disturbing them, we shot pics through the tree branches. Progressively, we got closer, as we sneaked up on the ducks.

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

Pretty! Good shots of them, too. They do have an interesting bill–for shoveling, I suppose!
