Thanksgiving Choice – Velvet Verbosity #356

Written for Velvet Verbosity. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Thanksgiving Choice

The turkeys were excited, anxiously awaiting their Ascendance. Gary watched Jenny on the other side of the hole, made during the evening.

“Are you coming or not?” said Jenny. Born in the wild, she was scrawny for a turkey, but Gary loved her nonetheless.

“But it’s Ascendance time!”

“Don’t do it!” said Phil. “When you Ascend, you’ll be at the Center, beloved by the All. Why pass that up?”

Gary caught a glimpse of brilliant lights within the Chute of Ascendance. He decided. “I’ll take my chances with Jenny’s love.”

“You’ll be sorry!” called Phil.

“Somehow, I don’t think so.”

Velvet Verbosity’s writing prompt requires the word, “glimpse.” This week’s prompt is here:

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.
