The Chain Writing Game V6.0 Ep:5

It’s time for another fabulous issue of Kerrie Ann Salsac’s Chain Writing Game! The game where many authors add 100 words at a time in sequence to build a story. This week, no one including Jadir, has ever ventured beyond the wall. After a bout of drinking and dare, Jadir gains the liquid courage to travel into the unknown. What will happen? Will he survive? What is out there? It’s all of us to find out as the story unfolds. Join us!

Episode 5

He made it to the other side, but a wicked fall left him dazed. Luckily, a dense pile of leaves and sticks cushioned his landing like a…he looked down…a nest, full of huge eggs. They were bigger than Bocci balls. What the heck would lay these?

A horrifying screech answered his question, like the sounds that terrorized the dwellers inside the wall. It stood about 50 feet away. A bird, nine-feet tall, eyed him angrily. A Terror Bird (Phorusrhacos longissimus), he recalled from the ancient texts.

It charged, sprinting at 50 mph. Jadir was suddenly and completely cured of drunkeness.

He ran for his life.

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

I figured something would scare him sober soon. Didn’t expect Terror Birds though πŸ˜‰ Wonder how he’s going to get out of this one?

I figure this is a future world. I thought maybe Terror Birds could evolve again from existing Secretary Birds or Ostriches. It wouldn’t take too long without human interference in the environment.

I’m thinking he’ll have to climb a tree. Terror Birds aren’t likely to climb well. Kinda funny, climbing a tree to escape a bird.

And so we’re up and running (as is Jadir!). Let’s hope it can’t keep going at 50mph for very long.
You certainly love your dinosaurs πŸ™‚

He should just be thankful that they were eggs, and not baby Terror Birds. If he makes it back inside the wall, something tells me he’s going to need a change of clothes. Yep, definitely gonna need a change of clothes πŸ˜€ Another good episode, Eric.

Yeah he should be thankful, and it’s too bad he didn’t bring along a spare set of undies. I guess that’s life in the forest. Be prepared for anything, especially soiled undies. πŸ˜‰ Thanks Lyn! I appreciate it.
