The Supportive Husband
As Annette wandered through the rummage sale. “Oh Lester! A 1959 Bimaldi lamp.”
“Another lamp?,” groaned Lester.
She picked it up and rubbed it to remove the dust.
*poof*
A Genie appeared and hovered over the pair. “I am the Genie of the Lamp!” it boomed.
“Look Lester, A genie!” cheered Annette.
“Seems awfully short.”
“I will grant you two wishes,” said the Genie.
“Why only two?” said Annette.
“It’s a tough economy for everybody.”
“Things always go wrong with these,” warned Lester.
“I’d like my husband to be more supportive,” smiled Annette.
*poof*
“Great work!” crowed Annette, as Lester the Labrador barked happily.

She does have another wish. But if she asks to be rich, I fear she’ll be turned into a safe!

Seriously. The Genie kinda twisted her wish around. The next one might be a doozie! Thanks for stopping in!

lol now that was good. at least she was satisfied with the outcome of her wish. Things always go wrong with genies, after all 🙂

I was tempted for her to wish she had a million dollars, then she’d turn into a safe. Things always go wrong with Genies after all. I chose a different direction in the end. In any event, she’s got a terrific companion now who doesn’t question her at all. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Ha! Now he’ll cuddle and fetch her slippers without complaint. Fabulous. What will wish two be?.

Given this Genie’s track record, I think it’ll have to be a careful one, whatever it is. At least she’s got a loving and supportive dog. That means a lot. 😉 Thanks for stopping in!

Very funny. You just can’t trust a bargain genie. To get the best results you’d have to go first class.

Indeed. Second-hand Genies just aren’t up to snuff. Maybe if she went to Saks, she’d get four wishes and more maybe results more reflective of the intent. 😉 Thanks for visiting and commenting. 🙂

I hope she uses her second wish to turn him back. Very carefully worded of course.

It seems that’s important with this Genie. Another awry wish might make things worse! 😉

This is great fun – and only 2 wishes! I absolutely love labs – my favorite dog in the world – any kind from golden retrievers to chocolate Labs. They will entertain you for ever. Thanks for the read and if I were her, I would save the left over wish! Thanks, Nan

If your husband must be a dog a Labrador is a great choice!

Oh, Eric. I must confess to a hearty laugh. I’m rather surprised she didn’t turn him into a pack mule. That’s what I’m used for at garage sales.

Great! I love to hear that. Now that you mention it, a pack mule would’ve been good too. I’ve been in that situation many times too. At least later on, I get a kiss. A pack mule can’t claim that. Glad you got a laugh and thanks for stopping to comment! 🙂
