This is one of my favorite subjects and you did a nice job of capturing it, although I’m not quite sure about the abandoned bug. 🙂
As for me, for this theme I would normally go after old abandoned farm houses and barns, but this time I decided to do something a little bit different. You’re welcome to come and see my take on the matter. 🙂

I wondered if anyone would ask about the Cicada skin. It looks to me like the animal molted, and “abandoned” the old shell.
I did enjoy your different take on the prompt with your pics. There were some great ideas there.
