Visual Anomalies
“I come here quite often,” said Evan, leading George beside the old wooden gazebo.
“To relax?” said George.
“To ponder,” shrugged Evan. “And consider the Universe.
“A good a spot to think, I suppose.”
Evan pointed down at the mushrooms growing nearby. “You might avoid those, though.”
George peered over the circular lenses of his dark glasses. “Why? They look perfectly ordinary.”
Evan smirked. “Yes, but they aren’t. A tiny dab in your mouth produces curious visual anomalies.”
George swiveled his horse’s head toward Evan. The purple polka dots on his pink fur quivered. “How do you know so much?”

Each week, the Friday Fictioneers join together to expand their minds (without assistance, mind you… ) and write flash fiction stories based upon a writer-supplied photo prompt. This week’s pic was provided by Erin Leary. Look here for more stories based upon Erin’s pic above: https://rochellewisofffields.wordpress.com/2015/03/04/6-march-2015/
Thanks for the chuckles! 😉

That’s the way I like it, a story like a jack in the box. Something crazy pops up at the end. You’re very welcome. Laughs and smiles come free of charge. Thanks much, Francesca! 🙂

Dear EA,
When the student is ready a teacher will appear…as well as other things. A great story that brings back fond memories.

I never Fictioneered before, so I’m reading everyone…I had a good time writing, not so much with the mechanics of putting it up. I laughed too…always a plus. Susannah

Good one, Eric. I’ve read a lot of mushroom stories this week, some deadly, and some were a real trip. Yours was the most fun.
