Snip!

Sheik Mahmoud gestured, and tall, muscular Aziz followed Chamberlain Dawud away.

“Trouble?” said Ghassan.

“My wives are angry about Fatima,” Mahmoud scoffed. “Aziz will ‘correct’ their misbehavior.”

“What happened?”

“Fatima was truculent.” He waved dismissively. “She’ll eat solid food again soon.”

High-pitched screams erupted from the harem.

Mahmoud grinned. “See?”

Dawud returned, trembling. “Highness! Your harem is outside. They’ve brought Aziz, your new eunuch with them.”
