Idiot
“It’s good we Westerners are here to sort things out,” said Lord Montpellier. He posed with his elephant gun.
“Yes, Bwana,” said Agambo. The guide hid a smirk. The man’s ignorance of the African Bush was astounding to him.
“See that creature there?” pointed Montpellier.
“Yes.”
“That’s a Wildebeest.”
Agambo squinted. “That’s Gnu.”
“Of course it’s new to you.” Montpellier puffed his chest. “I’m explaining things!”

Bwana: (In East Africa) a boss or master (often used as a title or form of address): http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/bwana
Gnu name origin: Some sources claim the name “gnu” originates from the Khoikhoi name for these animals, t’gnu.[8] Others contend the name and its pronunciation in English go back to the word !nu: used for the black wildebeest among the Southern Bushmen, now generally referred to as the San people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildebeest
This week at Grammar Ghoul Press’ Chimera 66 writing challenge, the prompt is: Wildebeest. Look here for more stories answering the challenge: http://www.grammarghoulpress.com/chimera-66-writing-challenge-12/

No. He steps on a lion’s tail in the middle of a field. Yeah. The lion is quite unimpressed when Montpellier explains it was all the lion’s fault. Montpellier did go on to great things though…as fertilizer for the grasses… 😉
Thanks kindly, John! 🙂

Considering the dangerous African bush, knee-deep in a lion’s mouth. With large predators running around, humility is one’s greatest tool. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have one. 😉 Thanks so much, Tony! 🙂

Well, that’s gnu to me too. Poor little Monti stepping on a lion’s tail. Pity he didn’t step in a very large pile of gnu poo. Oh, that’s right, he became his own pile of hooey 🙂 Your break from blogging didn’t last very long 😀

Hehe. He really thought he was the shit…so in the end, he became it. I didn’t need a long break. Just a short one. My batteries charged fast. 😉

LOL I wish my batteries recharged that fast. I spent the day with my 4 and 2 1/2 year old grandchildren yesterday. Slept like a log last night, but could still do with another 8 hours sleep 😀

Haha! I think small children drain a body faster than writing. At least the kids helped you sleep well. 😉
