A Slice of Humble Pie – Gargleblaster Microstories #210

“So? I was doing 167,” grumbled Martin. “You only stopped me because I permitted it.”

“Really?” said Sheriff Jenkins.

Martin patted his Lamborghini Aventador. “She’ll top 230. Can you?”

Jenkins clicked his remote. Jet engines ignited in his police cruiser’s rear end.

“Wanna race?”

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

Yikes. You caught a booboo. It’s all Martin. I fixed it now. Jenkins is a cool guy. He’s not brash…until you insult his car. Glad you liked him. Thanks Lyn! 🙂

Nicely sketched–I can picture the scene and imagine the personalities involved.

That is one beautiful machine. I particularly liked the bravado of that first line.

Isn’t it, though? I actually did look it up, and the Aventador really can do 230 mph. It looks like it’s speeding even if it’s sitting still. I’m glad that bravado came through. That really was critical to set up the character of Martin. Thanks much! 🙂
