Magic Words
LeafHeart clung to the windowsill near GreenMoon. She fluttered her wings and said, “Are you sure?”
GreenMoon shook his greenish wings in frustration. “I’ve watched this place and others like it for weeks. It always works.”
“Well, maybe the Humans aren’t ready to meet Faerie Folk.”
“Humans have changed a LOT in 200 years,” explained GreenMoon. “These shrines they built everywhere are proof of it.”
“This is a shrine?”
“Yes it is! I just have to get the magic words right and the window will open.”
“Well, try again.”
GreenMoon cleared his throat and focused his magical center.
“I’d like a Big Mac Meal, and SuperSize it, please!”

The ability to order fast food ushered in the age of chubby faerie folk and signaled the inevitable demise of the fae since their wings would no longer support them and they were sucked into the grills of uncaring motorists.

Oh wow, you must have read my notes! π Yep. That IS what happened to the poor Fae people. Hehe. Thanks much for stopping by. π

Haha! Those are the magic words! Or better yet, “Give me a #1 please.” LOL! Great story Eric, I really enjoyed it.

I know. Such magic words always produce food. GreenMoon just needs to practice more. π Glad you enjoyed this, and thanks very much! π

Yes they are! I’ve recited similar ones a few times at the “shrine.” π Thanks for stopping by. π

Isn’t it amazing? McDonald’s truly is a shrine. I’m trying to watch my weight so I’m trying to not go “praying” too often. π Thanks so much! π

Dear Eric,
Don’t forget the other magic words like ‘high cholesterol,’ ‘clogged arteries’ and ‘obesity.’ As always I enjoyed your humorous approach to the prompt.

So many people can do magic, who’d have thought. Poor fairies, though. In the future, they’ll have to work with fatty dust.

Haha! π “fatty dust.” Love it! Mickey D’s will change their whole culture, just like it’s changed us. Thanks so much! π

I agree. He should run away and never come back if he knows what’s good for him. I do enjoy keeping ya’ll on your toes. Thanks kindly, Lyn! π

McD’s has corrupted the world of the Fae? Oh no, say it isn’t true. I guess if you target the children, why not the faeries too!

Luckily, it hasn’t worked anyway. Though the spell that works on kids apparently works on Fae too, the Fae have to be served! There may still be hope! π
