After parachuting over Michigan from his crippled F-18E Super Hornet, Stehpen realized his parachute was damaged. He was dropping way too fast. The snowy ground rushed up fast and…
He awoke staring into a beautiful woman’s face. As his eyes slowly focused he realized he rested in the arms of a stone angel. She’d miraculously caught him before he smashed into the ground. “Nice catch,” he told the smiling statue, and he climbed safely to the ground.
By the time he’d walked to a nearby town, the shakes from his near brush with death had subsided. He noticed a bar was open, and he realized a drink might do him good.
As Aaron the bartender poured a shot, Stephen said, “You know anything about a big stone angel about a mile frrom here?”
“Sure,” said Aaron. “We put up that angel as a monument to aviators lost during war.”
“Nice. That angel sure is beautiful.”
“Yep. It’s a shame though.”
How so?”
“The city removed it three years ago. That angel isn’t there anymore.”

A miracle! Wow! He has a guardian angel that disguised herself as a stone statue. I love this story!

Yep. Either that or the original angel remained in spirit. Either way, it worked out well for him. Glad you like it. Thanks so much! š

Great surprise ending. If that were me, I’d probably have another drink and go back to see for myself if the statute was really no longer there.

Oh heck yeah. I’d do exactly that. And when I saw the angel really wasn’t there, I’d get another drink! š Thanks so much! š

I’m sure that revelation was quite stunning! Miracles are even more special when they defy reason and all other explanation.

Oh yeah. I imagine he needed another drink after that realization. It really was a miracle for him. He might reassess his life afterward.
