Don’t Worry

“Is it safe?” said Virgon.

“Don’t worry,” said Hadron. “The Intergalactic Teleporter is disguised as an antique car. No one would get in it.”

“But isn’t the Teleporter set for Emitocron? Their entire planet on house arrest because of their penchant for building hyper-weapons. If they escape their planet entire civilizations are doomed!”

“Don’t worry. They can’t escape unless they can crack the 256-bit passcode.”

“Wait, isn’t that the world’s most notorious tinkerer and hacker, Assangelo, climbing in the Teleporter?”

“Don’t worry, he’ll never find…”

Assangelo flickered away to Emitocron.

“What now?” shrieked Virgon.

Hadron drooped. “Okay. Now you can worry.”

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

So if the planet is on the house arrest, wouldn’t that mean that Assangelo would end up under house arrest with the rest of the planet?

Yes, but he arrived via teleportal. It’s set to pull him back after a set amount of time. He’ll get back alright. Of course, he didn’t know he was observed. Hadron will have some very angry friends with badges and guns waiting for Assangelo’s return.

Hadron’s in for a few collisions with the authorities once they find out that Assangelo cracked the passcode. I fear for the universe. The LHC Doomsday people are right after all… (cackling silently, what a fun story).

I didn’t have word space to get into it, but why in heck was the teleporter pointing there in the first place? Legal guys will want to know. We’re in trouble, but some other guys will take care of the problem. That’s another story. πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much! πŸ™‚

Nice build up, really set the stage for the joke at the end. ‘Don’t worry’ sounds like a warning to me too; you just know the worst possible is going to happen and they are being too cocky to have proper safeguards in place. πŸ˜€

Yeah, it’s that overconfidence that sets off alarms bells to be. Someone who;s too sure isn’t being careful enough. The other thing is, I’ve seen too many movies and read too many books when someone says, “what could go wrong?” πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much! πŸ™‚
