Oops Over Miami

The lights of a kilometer-long starship pierced the clouds. Some people stared in awe, many screamed and ran for cover, one held up sign reading, “Take me away, please!”

Chaos reigned.

Aboard the ship, on Earth Overwatch, Captain Smyiirt frowned. The ship monitored Earth, concerned that warlike Humans might spread into the galactic community.

An important aspect of the ship’s mission was remaining unseen.

Smyiirt watched the growing furor in Miami. He turned to Systems Officer Hysiit, a cadet fresh from the Academy. “Are our stealth fields engaged, Hysiit?”

The flustered officer said, “What?…Oh!”

“Of course they are, sir!”

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

It would be a great problem-solver by blowing up the world, I would think.

Yes, students and new graduates get very easily distracted in Miami, especially during the beach season.

Time for a quick refresher course at the academy me thinks. But then again, perhaps it’s Smyiirt’s fault. Maybe he didn’t actually give the command, “Engage stealth fields.” 😉

Learning on the job is Systems Officer Hysiit. I hope the Nuke Planet button is not positioned next to the Activate Stealth button.

Haha! No, that’s smartly located beneath a protective cover. Unfortunately though, the “Broadcast Greeting to Primitive People” button is right next to the Activate Stealth button. Things could get complicated… 😉

Yeah, if the MIB aren’t around it’s like putting the inflatable bed back into it’s box…impossible! The aliens need to do some damage control and fast. Perhaps an Elvis sighting will help. 😉 Thanks Michael! 🙂

  19. Ha, ha. Sooner or later it’s bound to happen with those new guys. Yes, the government will find some way of explaining it. Darn weather balloons. Good writing as always, Eric. 😀 — Suzanne

Perhaps, on these sensitive missions, a veteran crew is the best way to go. 😉 An yeah, those weather balloons really are ubiquitous aren’t they? 😉 Thanks for the glowing words, Suzanne! 🙂
