Wonder Powers

On a beach in Florida, Stephen and Shiloh, wore the new WonderPower ™ lifeguard vests. With a press of a button, the literal body of the lifeguards could change into almost any form needed.

A desperate call arrived at the lifeguard station. Heavy waves had capsized a sailboat.

Stephen and Shiloh leaped into the water and pressed the buttons on their chests. Each said “Shape of Black Marlin!” In an instant each became sea’s fastest marine animal.

At the swimmers, the shape of a Black Marlin was no longer so practical. They slapped their buttons with pectoral fins and said, “Shape of Zodiac Boat!” Instantly, they became inflatable boats with a powerful motors. Their charges safely above water, the two raced back to shore.

At the beach, EMTs were waiting. They hustled the rescuees away. The boats were soon alone.

“Mission accomplished!” crowed Stephen/boat.

“Ah, there’s a problem,” said Shiloh/boat. “Some help!” he called.

“Whaddya mean?”

“Boats don’t have arms or hands.”

“I can’t reach my button to change form!”

  2. Delightful. Next time they better include some oars to bump on. 🙂

Yeah, they definitely need some modifications. Or perhaps a change in procedure. One of them must always have a form that has hands, or maybe paws. 😉 Thanks Christine! 🙂

  3. Hahahahaha! I always look forward to your stories because they are so hysterical! They needed to have a button that says, “Think first before pushing a button”. LOL! Cute story!!

A lovely inventive tale, they may need to drift a while, till something touches the right button.

Yeah, for the moment they’ve become the ultimate beach bums, just going with the motion of the ocean. Hopefully, it isn’t a Tiger Shark that eventually pushes their buttons. :O 😉 Thanks so much! 🙂

Oh man do I ever hate the Wonder Twins. The TV show “Smallville” even did an episode featuring them and it was horrible. Nice spin on their powers, though.

Haha! I must have missed that episode. I could never take them seriously. Seemed a little too “cute” for me. I would rather have seen Batman rush in and bust some heads. Oh well. It was good for some laughs. 😉 Thanks James! 🙂

A funny dilemma! Now, they can decide who will bump into the other so the button will be pressed…hopefully, and if it works, that person could then push the other’s button. I’m sure they will not make the same mistake twice!

You are so right. They’ll update their procedure after that fiasco. Only one of them really needs to be a boat. The other can just ride inside. C’est la vie. Life is always about learning. 😉 Thanks much! 🙂
