True Legends

The Team figured out the elaborate lock on the ancient church’s door. Inside they finally found their quarry. It rested between other exotic and beautiful chalices.

“The Chalice of Poseidon!” breathed Dr. Abramowitz.

“Worth millions I expect,” grinned Wendy, their tech specialist.

Abramowitz held it aloft “Legends say it’s ever-full and anyone who drinks from it will never thirst again.”

“Now hang on…”

“I’ll never thirst again during my desert expeditions!”

He drank vigorously.

Everyone winced at the sudden change.

Wendy glared at Abramowitz, squirming on the floor. “Guess the legends were true. I’m pretty sure octopuses are never thirsty.”

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

He better get inside the chalice lest he die out of water.

When you referenced “Chalice of Poseidon,” I considered that the oceans contain salt water. Try drinking endless (or even limited) amounts of that.

That’s one of the details to think about. Seawater is just great to drink for Poseidon, not such a smart idea for people. I expect the doctor will find himself in an aquarium pos-haste. 😉 Thanks James! 🙂

  3. He obviously isn’t from the old school of “Look before you leap.” So now he’ll have to hunt for another school.

Pretty sure Octopuses won’t get thirst once they are toast.

Legends! There’s always a sting in the tale somewhere. Right now the others are probably thinking, “Hmmm… BBQ octopus for lunch.” 😉
