It Could Be Worse

Maureen had driven all night ’til morning. The coffee kept her awake, but now she had to go…Go…GO!

The abandoned building had no door on the bathroom. The toilet was dusty, covered with animal footprints. It was gruesome, but Maureen had a terrible phobia of peeing near bushes. Liberally applied hand sanitizer made it slightly less horrific. Nothing could be worse, she thought as she walked back to the car.

After she left, two furry aliens on a secret mission, climbed out of the toilet.

“No not the bush!” mocked Captain Hyrth, glaring at Lieutentant Gilk. “She’ll pee on it!”

  7. Dear Eric,

I can’t see to type. This cracked me up. Someone should tell them that one in the toilet is worth two in the bush. 😉

One can’t help wondering if the abandoned building was their disguised spaceship. In which case, they have no one to blame but themselves. Definitely not enough research before setting out on their scouting mission. LOL a TARDIS it isn’t 😀

It wasn’t. Their ship was cloaked in the tree line. Caught off guard and far from their ship, they just had to hide. It’s a case of zigged when they should’ve zagged. I doubt the young Lieutenant will go out on more field ops any time soon. 😉

      Thanks Lyn!

It could have been worse for the aliens – they might have been flushed out of their hiding place.
I liked your twist at the end!

Yikes! That would’ve been awful. And navigating their way out of the sewer system would’ve been almost as bad as navigating the Jersey Turnpike. 😉 Glad you enjoyed this, and thanks kindly! 🙂

Hilarious. It will take me two hours to wipe this grin off my face.

I loved the opening and the go…Go…GO! It reminded me of something from a Dick & Jane reader or a Dr. Suess Book. Outstanding!

  17. One of my favourite takes on this prompt so far. How amusing and clever….had me glued to my screen from start to finish. Loving the characters of the 2 aliens already…want more of them…:) Keep writing! Cheers! 🙂

  18. Hilarious, Eric. That’s one way to chase aliens away. Good humor writing. They beam down to earth at their own expense. 😀 — Suzanne
