Hannah’s First Snow

The night after I write a story about Winter, and how it can be different in different places, we get snow in Texas. Snow does fall once in a while here, but it’s rare. This was a special day because it was Hannah’s first snow.

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

What wonderful photos, Eric. Hannah is having the time of her life, isn’t she 😀 I love it how little children become so excited over something so simple. The last recorded snow in Sydney was on the 26th June 1986. It melted as soon as it landed. I wish just once, it would snow properly and give us a few inches.

She had a wonderful time. She ran around shouting “Snow! Snow!” It was great fun watching her. I wish you could get a little snow that sticks too. It makes for a pretty landscape.

      Thanks so much! 🙂

Oh,what fun! It’s been so long since I’ve been outside when it was snowing and could try to catch flakes on my tongue. Hannah is so totally adorable! Thanks for sharing these photos. That’s a pretty decent snow, too, especially for Texas. I hope she won’t expect you to produce snow like this every day all season long, now!

Haha! No kidding. This really surprised me. Shey said hours earlier that it was supposed to snow, but I was unimpressed. I thought we’d get a faint dusting at best. We were both shocked to see that much. I’ll not hold my breath waiting for the next snow, but you never know. 😉

      Thanks Joy! 🙂

I’m glad the snow happened when you were all home and had time to enjoy it, especially if it’s so rare. I bet it melted pretty quickly, too. Well, maybe this bodes well for more snow this season for you. We’re having the opposite in southern California — hot and dry Santa Ana winds have cranked the heat up into the 80s (great weather for Christmas caroling today – not!). At least my county isn’t currently on fire, so we’re lucky.

It did melt fast. No surprise there. It’s good to hear you’re not stuck in those fires. That looks scary!
