Ervin looked outside at the baking heat of Los Angeles in Southern California. “I don’t like this,” he said. “This is earthquake weather.”
“Oh that’s just a myth,” said his wife, Deidre. “Weather can’t cause earthquakes.”
“Lived here all my life,” rebutted Ervin. “Earthquakes always happen after heat like this.”
“Daddy,” said their daughter, Crystal. “I can make those nasty earthquakes go away.”
“How?”
She returned moments later with her snowman snow globe. “See? I just shake it real good and the snow falls. It can’t be hot if the snow is falling.”
Ervin smiled wanly. “Doesn’t that just cause an earthquake for the snowman?”
Theories about the so-called Multiverse are still new and still developing. What Humanity would learn hundreds of years later is there are trillions of universes, some astonishingly similar to ours. All them of them are connected via mathematical constructs within hyperspace, that place between universes.
Via these constructs, what happened in one universe affected another…
In universe 798345697/b, Arvin looked out at the snowman in the snow. “I hate this,” he muttered. “This is earthquake weather.”
“Don’t worry, Daddy” said his daughter, Amethyst. “I’ll just shake up this Los Angeles Sand Globe…”

Author’s Notes:
Multiverse: “…is the hypothetical set of possible universes, including the universe which we live in. Together, these universes comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, and the physical laws and constants that describe them….The various universes within the multiverse are called “parallel universes”, “other universes”, or “alternative universes….”

Earthquake Weather: “…Some recent research has found a correlation between a sudden relative spike in atmospheric temperature 2-5 days before an earthquake. It is speculated that this rise is caused by the movement of ions within the earth’s crust, related to an oncoming earthquake. However, the atmospheric changes are caused by the earthquake, rather than the earthquake being caused by any change in atmospheric conditions…”

Yep. It’s the War of the Universes without anyone knowing there’s a war.

It’s bad enough what we’re doing to our own planet — what an awful idea that we might be shaking up (ha ha) someone else’s too! Don’t shake the globe!!!!

No kidding. We humans have a lot to learn. 😉 Thank Joy! 🙂

The Butterfly effect spread over the universe. I like to think everything is as connected as this – but then we don’t get earthquakes where I live…

I ws going to mention the Butterfly Effect. Didn’t have enough words to include it. It’s very cool that you noticed that connection. I guess you’re lcky that nobody in any universe has a snowglobe connected to you. Where I live I think it’s connected to somebody’s oven. 😉

Ha ha ha ha. Who knew that cities in two parallel universes could be destroyed by the innocence of two kids 🙂

Hehe. That’s what I do here. I keep people informed about this kind of thing. 😉 Glad you got a laugh. Thanks! 🙂

Great story. I am a big fan of multi-verses. Such a great connection you made.

Thank you! Good to know another fan of them. Much appreciated.

That might make another planet angry enough to attack us. I hope they don’t know we’re to blame. Good writing, Eric. Thanks for the additional information. 🙂 — Suzanne

I hope not. Understanding the multiverse or even traveling there is pretty advanced stuff. We’ll just have to hope they never figure it out. 😉 Thanks Suzanne. Merry Christmas!
