That First Step

Herbert and Gil stood before the black & white photo of Paris. “It’s magical,” said Herbert. “You step into it, and you’re in Paris.”

“That’s incredible,” said Gil. “It must have been wonderful. I can’t wait to go!”

“Yeah, I suppose. My first day was rough.”

“Why? You’d get to see the Eiffel Tower.”

“Well, you enter Paris at that exact spot.”

“Yeah, right at the Seine. Imagine the sights, the sounds!”

“Broke my leg and damn near drowned.”

“You slipped and fell?”

Herbert sighed and handed Gil a parachute. “This is an aerial photograph. That first step is a doozy.”

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

At least he survived and returned, what an exciting way to travel the world, perhaps a helicopter would come in useful. I loved the imaginative take on the photo.
