Tourists

“I think his communication skills were poor,” said Pol’Hy’Stin. His antennae flit back and forth, tasting the air.

“It must be,” agreed Gol’Na’Shul. “We’ve had no trouble at all.”

Pol’Hy’Stin returned from taking yet another picture with fellow tourists. His long ears flicked often. “Humans are so friendly.”

“Where did Pis’D’Oph land again?”

“I think it was Trenton, New Jersey.”

Gol’Na’Shul stopped to chat with a movie producer. Shortly, he returned and said, “Humans are so funny.”

“Agreed, but why?”

“That guy asked who made my costume.”

“What costume?” snorted Pol’Hy’Stin. “It’s so strange here; you just gotta love Hollywood.”

Author’s Notes:
Since this week’s photo is a retread, so is the story.

Trenton, New Jersey is the legendary location of a fictional alien landing, “War of the Worlds” as broadcast by Orson Welles. It caused panic in the area: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Worlds_%28radio_drama%29

About EagleAye

I like looking at the serious subjects in the news and seeking the lighter side of the issue. I love satire and spoofs. I see the ridiculous side of things all the time, and my goal is to share that light-hearted view.

  2. Ah, well, they are probably better off staying in Hollywood. In NYC, we have the Men In Black … 😉

Cool story. I read that 20% of us believe real aliens from other worlds walk among us. It ain’t me. 🙂

  6. Dear Eric,

Another snorter. 😉 I can see how they would fit in in Hollywood. As long as they’re in the neighborhood, they should visit Roswell, NM. 😉 Good one.

    Shalom,

One of my favourites this week so far! Great take on the prompt and yes, Hollywood could be one of the few places aliens feel at home.

  8. Hah! I gotta ask – did they go on to get parts in the next Marvel blockbuster? (Have to add, in the area where I live the chances of seeing a Martian tripod cast in bronze at the end of a particular street are VERY high, admittedly only because Weta Workshop got busy one day…but hey…)

Yes, they did, but it was only a bit part. Apparently they don’t know how to act like “realistic aliens.” 😉 And there I see you’ve given me another reason to visit your part of the world. 🙂

  10. Great story, Eric. I can see why Pis’D’Oph had communication problems in New Jersey–it was his accent. 🙂
