This blog is a view of our world from a different angle, the humorous angle. Many serious events occur around the world every day and we should take them seriously, but not too long. Before a single tear beads in our eye, halfway close one eye, stand on one leg, and tilt your head to the side. You’ll see things differently. Perhaps you’ll pierce the veil and see the humor in the situation. And if you actually adopted that pose, you’re already doing something funny. It’s worth a laugh.
I intend to constantly keep up with the news and craft news stories around current events. I’ll even link to the actual news that I found, so you can still get your news like a reliable cup of coffee, albeit a slightly off kilter cup. Periodically, I’ll just make something up and honestly, how different is that from a lot of news sources? I expect to post every day or so. Life happens, and that’s what we’re here to celebrate, so periodically a break from the blogging world to experience real life is necessary. So I won’t necessarily post every day, but close to it. Recently, my wife and I went camping and foremost in the supply list was a can opener because it’s the main thing people forget. My wife agreed and it was foremost in her mind too. Despite this we STILL forgot the can opener. Yet we had a lovely time. Life is sweet. You just have to look for the fun in it.
And if anyone wonders where the heck I got the word, “Momus” well that’s easy. I love Greek mythology. Anytime I want a great name for something, I look to the Greek Gods. Momus is the Greek God of Satire. In tribute to Momus, these pages are made.
UPDATE: Just because I like it, I’ll be adding short stories too, perhaps some Flash Fiction. I like writing from a prompt of some kind, like a picture. I like keeping things light, but the short stories may not always be funny. I’m trying to stay centered, you see? But if I stray from the funnies, it won’t last too long. Stick around, put your feet up and enjoy. Mi Casa, Su Casa. Perhaps you’ll join me for a Cuba Libre or perhaps a Mint Mocha. Isn’t that nice? Ain’t life grand?
Have fun, and don’t forget to comment.
Greek mythology and satire? You have to be my new best friend.

Bunch of great writing prompt sites. I could post them here, or if you’d prefer – through e-mail.
I’m also upbeat and love humor. So if you are ever riding a train perhaps you can have a chorus of this ditty that my almost three year old grandson enjoys:
A Peanut sat on a railroad track
It’s heart was all a flutter
Round the bend came Number Ten –
Toot-toot, peanut butter.
I’ll be book marking your place. Thanks for your visit to my Flashy Fiction site, this icon goes to some of my shorter poetic ventures.

Thanks, Jules. If you wouldn’t mind posting the challenges here, that would be great.
Loved the little ditty.
Glad you took some time to hang around here.I expect to visit your Flashy Fiction site again soon. I had much fun there.

You’ve got Friday Fictioneers, and The Sunday Whirl, did you also have this one?
http://alastairsphotofiction.wordpress.com/
After the madness of National Poetry Month, Margo should return to Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays but if you go to her site she has a page marked for prompts:
http://margoroby.wordpress.com/
I also like: http://wewritepoems.wordpress.com/ (this is a weekly)
http://flashyfiction.blogspot.com/ (This one has something for every day of the week)
And all month I’ve been playing with Miz Q and I hope she will continue with at least a weekly prompt: http://imprompt.wordpress.com/
Miz Q has something poetic every day plus some ‘Think Quickly’ prompt, which actually take some thought. π
I think though that I’ve gotten most of these prompts from Margo. Though there are exceptions. While I post on my own short verse spot daily… I frequent some prompts more than others.
Write on!

https://mindlovemiserysmenagerie.wordpress.com/ Has a prompt for every day of the week
https://sundayphotofiction.com/ changed hands and is a Sunday Photo Prompt
And also for Sundays but I’ve been traveling backwards to catch previous posts is:
https://aooga.wordpress.com/
And one more…that I do every week is : https://thetwiglets.wordpress.com/ a short writing prompt.
