The Terrible Sound – Microstories Gargleblaster #196

I hear the sound, and my soul bleeds. It’s the sound of screaming angels dragged away from heaven, the crying death of whales butchered by evil men.

Down the stained, dripping steps, I see it.

It’s my damned neighbor practicing his bagpipes again.

  4. Holy crap, just the thought of those bagpipes made me cringe and my teeth grit like fingernails on a chalkboard does…eeek! Nice entry!

  5. The college campus where I work hosts a Scottish camp every summer. They practice the bag pipes outside our building. I used to love “Scotland the Brave.” Now, not so much.

Haha! When bagpipes are played well, they’re wonderful and inspiring instruments. When played badly…oy! The sounds they make could rip asunder the very fabric of reality! Thanks for stopping in! πŸ™‚

That beginning – I forgot it was you and thought it was a comment on all the ways we’re ruining our world. The ending, on the other hand, was very you, in a typically entertaining way πŸ™‚ I LOVE the bagpipes…when they are well-played.

Hahaha! This is one of the funniest comments I’ve seen in a long time. Mostly…because it’s very true. That opening line isn’t my normal style at all. I like to shake things up and keep people on their toes. I love bagpipes too. With all the talk going on I just had to listen to some bagpipe music last night. That music really gets me moving. Glad you enjoyed, and thanks so much for the awesome comments. πŸ™‚

Laughing so hard and remembering the scene in Downton Abbey where they are eating breakfast and there’s a bagpiper doing a lap around the table.

He plays it that bad? LOL. And I thought you are in a serious mood today.

Hehe. As you know, I can be serious sometimes. This day, I was in a tricky mood. When pipes are played badly, it really can be awful. Luckily, I usually hear them played well, and then they are inspirational. Thanks Indira! πŸ™‚
